Google Calendar time tracking for Jira
Turn Google Calendar meetings into Jira worklogs in one click. Tempus shows your day’s meetings with attendees and duration, picks the project, and logs the time to Jira — read-only, client-side, no issue key in the event title.
Tempus reads your Google Calendar and lists the day’s meetings right next to your Jira work. Each meeting shows its time range, duration and attendee count — pick a project, adjust the minutes, and log it to Jira as a worklog in one click. No add-on inside Jira, no pasting issue keys into event titles.
How it works
- Connect Google Calendar once (read-only) from the Tempus popup → Work → Meetings.
- Tempus shows today’s meetings with start/end time, duration and attendees.
- Click a meeting, choose the Jira project (or filter to one), and confirm the minutes.
- Press Log to Jira — the worklog is created on the issue, dated to the meeting.
What Tempus reads — and what it doesn’t
Tempus requests the read-only Google Calendar scope calendar.events.readonly. It reads event titles, times and attendee counts to suggest worklogs. It never edits, creates or deletes calendar events, and your calendar data is processed in your browser — it is never sent to a Tempus server.
Why PMs use it instead of the usual calendar-to-Jira apps
- No issue key in the event title. Most calendar-to-worklog tools need you to type the Jira key into every event; Tempus lets you pick the project when you log.
- Works with any Jira, including the free plan — it’s a Chrome extension, not a Jira Marketplace add-on an admin must install.
- Client-side. Your calendar and Jira data stay in your browser; there is no Tempus backend in the middle.
- Part of the whole picture. The same view feeds AI Auto-log, so meetings become evidence for your drafted timesheet, not just isolated entries.

FAQ
Can I log Google Calendar meetings to Jira automatically?
Tempus lists your Google Calendar meetings with their duration and attendees, and logs the one you choose to a Jira issue as a worklog in one click. You confirm the project and minutes, so the worklog is always accurate — and the same meetings feed AI Auto-log, which can draft a full timesheet for you to approve.
Does Tempus change my Google Calendar?
No. Tempus uses the read-only calendar scope (calendar.events.readonly). It never creates, edits or deletes events, and your calendar data is processed in your browser, never sent to a Tempus server.
Do I need a paid Jira plan?
No. Tempus is a Chrome extension that works with any Jira Cloud instance, including the free plan. There is nothing for a Jira administrator to install.
